About Us
Susquehanna Kayak and Canoe Rental is owned by Art Coolbaugh. Opened in 2007 after he and his son A.J. got caught up in a wave of water recreation that was sweeping the Pennsylvania river valleys.
Coolbaugh owned the former Ardee’s Foodrinkery restaurant on Route 92 in West Falls, Exeter Township right along the river. He soon started offering rentals from his basement.
Now the Wyoming County business has grown to several employees, three transport vans and trailers, RV & tent campsites, a new AirBnB rental coming soon, and two North East PA locations.
Susquehanna Kayak and Canoe also manages the boat rentals available at Frances Slocum State Park in nearby Kingston Township, Luzerne County and also Lackawanna State Park, in nearby North Abington Township, Lackawanna County.
Art Coolbaugh is also the Water Trail Manager for this stretch of the Susquehanna River working through the Endless Mountains Heritage Region.
